dinner with the Johnsens {chicken Lazone}

So, who else has chicken like five times in a week?  We eat chicken a lot.  I am always on the hunt for a good chicken recipe.  Most I try are ok and we are able to eat the leftovers but I don't usually revisit the recipe.

This however.  Oh.  My.  Word.  The first night I made it there were no leftovers and Doug and I were deeply sad about it.  So sad that I made it fresh again the next day.  This chicken is AMAZINGLY GOOD.  And Easy.  And AMAZING.

Please make it.  As soon as possible.
Chicken Lazone a la Johnsen

4 chicken breasts or equivalent chicken breast tenders (I use 1-1 1/2lbs of chicken)
1 tsp of salt
1 1/2 tsp of chili powder
1 1/2tsp of onion powder
2 tsp of garlic powder
1/2cup of heavy cream
4 tablespoons of butter

Combine all spices in a gallon bag, shake to combine.  Add chicken to the bag and shake to coat.  Melt 2 tbls of butter in a skillet.  Once butter is melted add chicken and cook on medium heat, turning once until cooked through.  Once chicken is cooked add heavy cream and turn heat to low.  Use chicken to mix cream around a bit, shifting the chicken around in the pan will do.  Allow to simmer on low until cream begins to thicken.  Add the last of the butter in pats all around the pan.  Once butter is melted, serve chicken with sauce on top.

Cry if there are no leftovers.  I will understand.

Make this today!! Or tomorrow.  Promise?

I make a very similar dish, except with mine I remove the cooked chicken and sauté bell peppers and onions until they practically dissolve before returning the chicken and adding the other ingredients. I serve it over noodles or rice. It's the only dish with onions that all of my kids eat with no complaints!

I'm with you on the chicken. I don't eat beef, pork, or seafood so it's either chicken, turkey, or nothing. This recipe sounds delicious and like it could be easily modified to meet my food allergies (no dairy or gluten). I'm pinning this.

Crystal, how do think this would be with these ingredients dumped in a crock pot?
