just so you know...

i just finished up day four of the shred!  i am super proud of myself...and am already seeing results!!

i know that some of you more athletic types are thinking..."big deal, it's been four days, what a wuss".

yes, i am a wuss.  four days in a row of exercise that is kicking my booty is big for me.
allow me to present some evidence.

article number one: these are my "athletic shoes".  i wear them any time i am going to exercise or do anything remotely athletic.  i have dutifully worn them each and every time they were deemed appropriate.  aren't they in great shape?  no stains, minimal scuffs, 100% tread on the bottom.

know what's wrong with this photo?  i bought them in 1997!!!
they are 14 years old and in excellent shape.  i could lend them out without fear of embarrassment on their condition or smell.  need i say more?

article number two:  in high school i ALWAYS offered to sweep the gym floor in lieu of participating in class.  always.

so you see...it IS a big deal to me. :) it IS getting easier and I am finding it less and less necessary to concentrate hard on my walking to avoid looking like a clobbering camel due to muscle pain.

I've gotten several emails from some of you who have decided to do this with me...that makes me so happy!! yay us!!!

tell me why you aren't doing it?

The tag on this post made me giggle...oh yes, I noticed! :)
Since January I've been spending my lunch break taking a class at the gym...and while it kicks my butt and most days I get back to work sweaty and exhausted....I finally started to notice results...I had to buy a dress for a wedding in May, and realized I have gone down TWO dress sizes!!! Oh yeah, I feel like a million bucks now! So while you may be sore now, it will get better...I swear!! Good job! :)

Great job...keep it up! I started exercising back in September and have lost 30 lbs ! I bought the "shred" about a month of ago...and my hubby has been using it more than me....but I am glad to hear of you "getting started"...and just remember...if you have 1 bad day or 1 bad week ...don't beat your self up! You can do it!

I give you major props! Hubby and I did day one of the shred and we hurt so bad for days that we never tried another day. Oh, and my tennis shoes are about as old as yours. lol :)

I have that DVD in my crawlspace, never opened! I think you might have convinced me to get it out. I have about three pregnancies worth of baby weight left over to get off. :)

I'm totally inspired. Just bought the DVD. sigh... I hope I can follow through with this. Just had my first baby in Sept and I can't believe how hard it has been to look the least bit normal again. I've always been chunky but this is ridiculous. I'm at 209 right now (50 of those pounds are in my crazy milk exploding boobs I think - I am a size G - ever heard of size G?????!!!!) and normal for me was around 180 which obviously isn't awesome but at least then I'd have some pants to wear and I'd be out of my maternity stuff. Thank you so much for the inspiration. :)

I am DEFINITELY going to do this once I can get my hands on the DVD!!! Got a little trip coming up soon and want to be in "bathing suit shape" instead of "blah-and-squishy-and-no-energy-from-being-seditary-all-winter" kind of shape.

:)

Gotta get that DVD asap!

I was going to 'join' you today. Had my sweats on, DVD lined up and sudddenly realised that the clock I'd been going by all morning was the only one in the house not put forward *EEK* so I had a choice, Shred or blog before I made the school run and for once the blogging seemed more important, but I'll join you tomorrow.
My least favorite part of the Shred ? Jumping jacks, think it's ok to cheat and jump rope instead ? ;)

I am pregnant...that is why I am not doing it with you...but maybe next fall. My exercise shoes are eight years old and in similar condition. I had to run out and buy them when I friend asked me to go on a walk with her. Good job! Keep up the good work!

I got the DVD a couple of years ago and sat down the first time and watched it while eating chocolate. But this time I'm really gonna do it! I want to wear a bikini this year! I lost a lot of weight recently do to stress...not the healthiest. But I really need to tone, especially the jelly belly left behind after 2 kids.

Oh forgot to ask....did you do before pics of yourself? I think I'm gonna because I want to be able to see the difference.

Your post inspired me to order the DVD! I am on my second round of weightloss (after my third baby I lost 50 pounds). My fifth child is two and I'm working on dropping another 30 or so now. I joined WW this time and work out six days a week on my treadmill (and am losing!), but I wanted some variety. I like challenging workouts, and *everyone* says this one is challenging! LOL. Keep up your hard work and your efforts will be rewarded - better health, better body, better self image. I applaud your decision to go for it!

I plan to join you, and break in my own sneakers. Just as soon as it's truly warm and truly spring-ish out.
I wish I had a good neighborhood to walk in, but it has extreme hills, in all of the wrong places. Like, starting! But I don't need to drive far, to have some good, flat walking ground. The high school track is nice too.

Keep going! Destroy those sneakers! ; )
