I made this for church this week from berries I picked the day before. It was easy enough to make before church and take in warm! Yum! It was a hit! Not too sweet, not too anything really. This will be a staple for blackberries in this house! I hope you enjoy making some!
Blackberry Crisp - Easy and Quick!
Filling:
4-5 cups blackberries (fresh and washed clean is always best!)
3/4 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
For the topping:
1 cup quick oats
1/2 cup of almonds however you love them most.
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup butter, melted
Preheat oven to 375
Combine filling ingredients and pour into a greased 9 by 9 inch pan.
Combine all topping ingredients adding butter last. Stir until well combined and cover berry filling with it.
Bake until 30-40 minutes or until berries are bubbling in the middle.
Serve with homemade whipped cream (heavy whipping cream about a cup, 1 tbl of powdered sugar (more or less to taste) and 1 tsp of vanilla).
