what I made for Monday {five ingredient frito bars}

Ok, so these are totally the strangest things I've ever made but they are addictive and delicious!  It's a strange combination of things that come together to make an easy, tasty treat!  They aren't at all good for you BUT my philosophy is that if you treat TREATS like TREATS then they don't have to be healthy, they can be a TREAT! :) These will fly off your platter, please your teachers and be a hit at the next pot-luck!  Ready to make some?  
Start with a bag of Fritos.  The 10.5 ounce size or so.  Layer them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper (and if you aren't baking regularly with parchment paper, your life is harder than it needs to be).  
 Like so...
Sprinkle a half a bag of mini-chocolate chips on top.  
Now, take one cup of karo syrup and one cup of white sugar and put them in a pot and bring them to a boil over medium heat.  Once it starts to boil, allow it to boil for a minute or so, stirring the whole time.  Turn off the heat, add a cup of creamy peanut butter and stir until smooth.  
 Drizzle the karo/sugar/peanut butter mixture over the chips/chips.  Try to keep it pretty even. 
Allow to cool until solid and cut into bars. :) And then GET THEM OUT OF THE HOUSE!

So a little recap:

5 ingredient Frito bars
1 cup light karo syrup
1 cup white sugar
1 cup smooth peanut butter

1 bag Fritos corn chips
1/2 bag of mini chocolate chips (or mini m&ms? marshmallows? etc...)

Spread corn chips in an even layer onto a parchment lined cookie sheet, sprinkle chocolate chips on top. 

Combine karo and sugar in a pot.  Bring to a boil over medium heat.  Once boiling, allow to boil for about a minute, stirring the whole time. 

Turn off heat, add peanut butter and stir until smooth. 

Drizzle over chips evenly.  Allow to cool and cut into bars.
