40 ideas -num 17- how to make slime {the brigher variety!}

This might be one of our favorite activities ever! It worked SO well and the boys loved it so much!  They have come back to it again and again, they just can't get enough of it!
Slime!  And not just any slime but BRIGHT, colorful, FUN slime! :) The ingredients are fairly inexpensive and easy to find.  The whole process takes just a few minutes of your time!
Here is everything you need:
school glue (the clear variety shown produces a brighter variety of slime, not the cloudy version you usually see)
borax laundry soap (I found it at Target)
1 cup of water

1/2 cup glue
1/2 cup of water
food coloring

First, mix together the 1 tsp of borax and the 1 cup of water until the borax is dissolved.

In a separate larger bowl, mix together the glue and water.  Add a couple of drops of food coloring.  I only had gel colors on hand and while I had to work a little to get it to dissolve, they worked well.

Next you will combine the two, it will start to "slime up" immediately.  I poured the borax solution into the glue solution, stirring quickly as I poured.

Stir for a bit until it looks like it's "done" doing it's thing.  I had a little excess liquid to pour off but after discarding that the boys had a blast with it!
We added some googly eyes!  You could add glitter or some varieties of confetti if you wanted.
Like I said, the boys LOVED it!  I think since we have so much borax on hand now we will have a go at making bouncy balls as well!
For storage I just used a couple of inexpensive food containers.  Seems like the slime will last indefinitely!

Have fun!!
