a quilt for Seryn {and some business}

I don't know what's gotten into me...but I've finished another quilt (without taking my usual six month hiatus) AND I've got another lovely one underway!

This one is for my niece Seryn.  Something about the spunky colors of these fabrics just screamed her name to me.
 The assembly was quite easy...I used a jelly roll, sewed the strips together and called it done. :)
 The quilting was intentional wavy lines...

I was trying to coordinate with the backing which was a combination of wood grains.
 The effect is kind of hard to photograph but in real life creates a lot of fun texture.
 I added her name and birthday in a heart "woodcarving" style.
And as one more final funky touch, I went over the binding in a hot pink zig-zag stitch.  Adds a little surprising touch. :)
I am quite pleased with the result...all finished in about 24 hours or so.

See, anyone can make a quilt. :)
