20 minute crafter-reindeer thumbprint ornaments

Remember the handprint snowmen from last year?
They were so cute to see as I unpacked them this year that I knew we had to do a new version this year.
Enter reindeer thumb prints! These are even easier than last years version...want to make some?
Here is what you need, from this experience I can tell you that the matte ones work a little better and make it easier to see the thumb prints.
You also need some little thumbs.
From my experience last year, I learned to put the initials and date on first.
 Paint your thumb...
And press onto ornaments...I thought I would do "eight tiny reindeer"...yeah, not when I have this many to do. :)  I ended up doing 4-6 per ornament.
Once the thumbs are dry add eyes with your sharpie...
...then two lines where the antlers go....
...then add "V"s to fill them in...
And for Rudy add a nice red nose.   I did this with craft paint and the end of a paint brush.
If you lower the position of the eyes you get a whole other look, one I prefer. :)
Let dry, and you are done!

These will be cute teacher and family gifts. :)
And I will be keeping a few myself, too. :)

Have fun making these! Let me know if you do, I would love to see them!

making a list.

In case you were wondering...here is how I feel at the moment.
I just need a few good solid days of working and I think I can get all things under control.
November has 40 days right?  That should do it.
I feel like for every one thing I mark off of my list, I add three.
But I refuse to stop moving...it will get done!
Do you elf on the shelf?  We just started this year...the boys LOVE waking up in the morning to find out what our naughty elf Porkchop is up to.  (five points to you if you can connect the dots for the random elf name.

I've been having awesome luck at the Goodwill lately...so I have started listing a few items on my ebay.  You can check out all that I have on my Ebay page HERE.  In addition to some vintage goodness (which hopefully will continue to be added to), I've also listed my Cricut Expression, that I never ever use.  It's in almost new condition and could totally be given as a gift. :)

And a question for you...my super saver sister in law has convinced me to start couponing (after coming home from CVS with bags full of FREE (good) things).  She turned me on to Hip2Save.  What's your favorite coupon site?  Method?  I'm a newbie and I would love some help getting started. :)

Also, now that Thanksgiving crazy has passed...could you take a moment to donate to my charity:water site?  You can click on the bottle over to the right.  I've only had TWO donations...which I am chalking up to it being Thanksgiving...but now that it's over...can you take a moment and give $10?  As it stands you have great odds to win a prize. :)

OK...that's it.  Homework: Do you elf?  Ideas? Do you coupon?  Resources?  Can you give $10?  Bottle on the right. :)

i'm alive!

Just popping in to say HI!!! I'm alive and well and racing to catch up after a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hang in there, I'll be back! :)

Happy Thanksgiving from Little Bit Funky!

sew to swap blog hop

I was honored to be asked to be a part of Chrissie Graces' new book Sew to swap...I still feel like choosing me to participate was a huge mistake on her part but it's too late for her to take it back.  :)
There's a huge blog hop going on from her blog that you can check out to see all the actual quilters and their amazing work.   Today is my day for the blog hop!! Hello there! :)
For my blog hop day, I am raising money for Charity:Water.
For every $10 donation you will be entered to win this adorable quilt from the book.
 Here's my square! :)
Pretty detail. :)

In addition to the quilt above, I will also be giving away...
And two copies of the book, Sew to Swap!

So that makes three different winners. :) You just have to go to my campaign page make a donation of any amount and you are entered.  :) The raffle will go until December 1st.  I will list the winners here and you will have to check back to see if you have won.  If I haven't heard from you within 48 hours of announcing you as a winner, I will choose a new winner.
Charity : water is a highly reputable charity whose mission is to bring a basic necessity to everyone.  Water.  Think about how much water you use in a day...your shower, your coffee, brushing your teeth, cooking, cleaning, etc.  ONE $20 donation will bring clean water to one person.  Think about how easy that is?  Each $10 donation made will get you an entry to win the quilt or one of the runner up prizes...so even if you don't WIN...you win. :)

So a few things...

1.  Click on the bottle image above or to the right to donate to my campaign.  All $10 donations from now until the end of the month will be entered into the raffle.

2.  PLEASE spread the word as though it were YOUR child who needed clean water! :)

Thanks for your help in raising money for this great cause! :)

what i made for monday-Reese's stuffed oreos.

Cue the Hallelujah chorus.
This is awesomeness in amazingness covered in heaven.
And easy to make as one two three.  And yes, it seems like it might be too much.
But it's not.  It.  Is.  AWESOME.
Here's what you need.
Double stuff oreos, full size peanut butter cups and Baker's dipping chocolate.
All found at the grocery.
Get the double stuffs ready.  Twist them apart and put the empty half aside.
 Layer like so.
Dip and cover in chocolate (prepared per directions on the carton).  I used tongs to dip.
Top with crushed "empty" oreo cookies.  Allow to set.
Enjoy.  And I mean ENJOY.  It appears that it may be TOO much but one is just right.

And if you are going to gain weight for the holidays anyway, might as well make it worth it right?

custom order sunday.

Say hello to my Sunday project.
Don't ask me why, but I have a thing for these cardboard deer.
It started with a company here in Charlottesville that makes amazing versions of these.
For example, there are many "art" items around town called "art in place".
This huge rhino used to be one of them....they also have an amazing store full of all sorts of amazing cardboard creations. :) Cardboard Safari ships, too. : )
So back to my deer...I was happy to find a FREE easy template HERE at Chronicle books.
Some printing, cutting and exacto knifing later...and I had a deer. :) Free.
I mounted him to a canvas.  Then I painted him.
 Then I loved him.
Then Moses claimed him.  You know, because I told him I was making it for him.
You can make one, too.  I just recommend a fresh exacto knife.
 Enjoy and happy Sunday!

love, love and love.

Hi there!

How's your weekend?  I'm in a serious flurry of household projects that I have been putting off forever...part of my reasoning for taking a partial break from custom orders. :)

I'll show you a couple of them but first some etsy love.

Can you stand the adorableness of these portraits of my boys?
Amanda from Pencils and Daisies did an amazing job at capturing them at this precious age where they will let me call them hoho and mimi.
If I had thought to do it, I would have saved them to give my husband for Christmas...but now maybe you can do that for your husband?  She also does darling couple portraits that would be wonderful as wedding or anniversary gifts. :)

The photos above are the ones that I sent her to go by...and I am just thrilled at the end result. :) These will hang in my house until I am 90. :) Do you love them or do you love them?  I love them. :) Go see her and get some of your own!  Pencils and Daisies.
You know I love wall art.  You know I love Virgina.  How could I not love this print from Hop Skip Jump Paper?   Love it, love it, love it! :)
This one however could hang no where in my house.  I mean who could you even give that to?
Clever and smart for our times.
This one would never be true for me either.
Maybe if it said "I love you BECAUSE of my first cup of coffee".  :)

I kid (you not).

Skip Hop Jump Paper is just full of lovely art...I really do love all of the ones in their "I love you more than series" and all of the "all the way to...." series as well.
The seller is lovely and sweet and you won't regret a purchase from them. :)

I've had a good hot streak at our local Goodwill stores.  We have three in our area that I stalk regularly.  God has been good to me...I'm serious when I say that I pray for what I'm looking for...on this day I wanted a "new" end table and lamp.  The cute owls were bonus. :)
A happy coat of red for the owls and white for the table...
...and it's right at home in it's new spot.  I had to rewire the lamp with a new cord but that was super east...I often say, with Jesus and Google, I can learn anything. :)
It makes the corner. :)
One of the owls fit right in here...this shelf area was rearranged as one of my projects today.
Look at those handsome boys, would you!? :)
This hangs right by our back door...an easy reminder to all of us to be kind to each other throughout our days.  Can I ask you to revisit this POST? Just a simple reminder to do SOMETHING, anything for one another during this season (and always really) instead of allowing ourselves to talk ourselves out of doing anything.  It's a good quick read. :)
In light of that "do SOMETHING" spirit, I will be making this snack mix with Moses tomorrow.  We will give these bags of "Blessings mix" to Moses' teachers and whomever else he would like to give them to.   You can go to Caramel Potatoes for the shopping list and a printable that explains it all.

I hope you will join me in blessing someone in an unexpected way.  :)

Hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful! :)
