Easter weekend...

We started the weekend on Friday by having Dish Network installed...the photo above is Moses flashing his tummy to the installation guy outside...yep...that's my son. :)
Moses helped me make a pound cake for Easter dessert..."help" meaning he licked the beaters. :)
We managed another year of non-candy Easter basket...full of Thomas, marshmallows and rainbow goldfish. :)
He didn't seem to miss the candy when there was play-doh in his eggs.
He showed off his "this looks painful" fake and cheesy smile.
The Easter bunny slept through most of it. :)
I made this dessert for Easter...along with homemade pulled pork and homemade mac and cheese. yummmm!
Here is Moses on Easter last year. :)
And here he is this year...hunting eggs with his good friend Kai. :)
And here they are...high-fiving each other over all the eggs they found. :)

Sadly, we didn't make it to church...I am just not ready yet...is that normal?

We did have a great Easter, though. We had some great time together as a family and then our good friends joined us for dinner and dessert.

I hope your Easter was just as lovely and full of the warmth of family you love.

8 reasons not to shop while cranky and pregnant.

1. Marshmallow Fluff x2
2. Donut x 2
3. Hot Chocolate
4. Frito's
5. Reese's peanut butter cups
6. Reese's chocolate bar (who knew??)
7. Holiday Oreos
8. Hot chocolate

The only things I needed were the jelly and chili seasonings...sigh...I feel gross just looking at that pile.
I did finish my J. :) Just a canvas painted with a giant initial. :)
Simple, fun, easy and cheap. :)

I am also working on a fun new idea that just hit me last night...but I'll wait to share it...it has to do with snow globes...hopefully the cutest that you have ever seen...

Like I mentioned...I am super cranky...super...be thankful that you don't live with me today. :)

Here is to a happier, more hormonally level day tomorrow...

What happens when it takes less than five minutes to vote?

So say you go to vote today and are definitely expecting a long wait. In my head I was prepared for an hour or more...at the least. And I had prepared myself for it...cookies, stickers, books, milk, snack, stroller, diapers, etc...all for Moses. I was expecting the worst. So was Doug. Between parking, getting out the stroller, loading up Moses, voting, coming back to the car, loading up Moses and pulling out of the parking lot...we were there for about five minutes. No joke. Pretty sweet. Doug and I had planned very little for the morning...so I say to him "Let's go work on our Christmas shopping". Which we did...very successfully. And then some. Doug found me some great clearance shoes (above). :) One pair was $60 OFF and the other was $30 off (Doug is the best to shop with--not only does he like it but he also finds the BEST deals). And they are ridiculously cute...which never happens if you have huge feet like me. :)
Then Doug showed me this fun bag..."Ooooo", I say, "There is even a place for a sippy cup"...the important stuff if your a mom. :) So I got that too. Would never have done it if Doug wasn't there...he is better at making me buy stuff for me than I am.

I chose to completely ignore the fact that I really NEED to buy a jacket for my ever growing tummy to fit into (I have already outgrown all that I own) (maybe it won't go below 70 this winter?) and a steam vac for the carpets and furniture (which my nesting is saying I HAVE to do before people come before Thanksgiving)...and a dresser...and a glider...sigh...

You can donate to that cause by going HERE. :) I'm off to get some sewing done to alleviate the guilt of making non needs purchases. :)

Things that make me happy today...

1. The fact that this morning before 8am I sent my "works overnight" husband a text message that says "I am testing your psychic abilities" and he comes home with a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

2. Add that to the fact that last weekend, when he was off work, the first thing he did was throw on a hoodie and a hat and went to Starbucks for me then too...and brought me home a fabulous new travel mug in addition to a yummy latte.
3. The fact that Moses likes to sit next to me a craft. That creation up there is all his doing. :) He loved pointing out the different shapes and was actually taking great care in arranging all of the different elements. :)

4. The fact that a couple times this week, Doug has gotten home from work while I was in the shower and took the initiative to not only get Moses out of bed and dressed but make and feed him breakfast too. Somehow that makes me feel tremendously loved. :) Thanks Honey!
5. I bought my first pack of newborn diapers yesterday. I almost cried when I took one out of the package and then again when I put it next to Moses'. Yes, I have already started buying diapers. When Moses was born we didn't have to buy diapers for the first 3-4 months of his life, we had that many stocked up.
6. I have a pile of things I LOVE ready to go in the shop.
7. I have a funky new bird bag that should be arriving at my doorstep any day now. :)
8. I am going to a mom makeover get together tonight...I don't wear makeup so this should be fun. :)
9. The amazing number of responses to my giveaway! I am certain that I have never received so many convos in one day! I have so many offers that I am not sure how I will use them all up...or if I will be able to at all. What I will say is that the items that will be given away on Fridays are AMAZING!!!! You will NOT want to miss some of the fabulously wonderful things that some of my favorite Etsy people have offered up for me to giveaway. Many of these items make me want to come up with a secret identity so I can win them myself! Seriously though, if you win any of the items I have lined up you will be able to check something or someone off of your holiday to do list. :) Be sure to come back tomorrow morning when the fun begins! :)

um....where's the weekend?

Seriously, where did the weekend go? It zoomed by so fast that I am not even sure what to share from the last few days...it was a great weekend, mind you, just fast...at church on Sunday we had a Hawaiian themed cookout and it was tons of fun...above are the fruit kabobs I made as the dish we brought....yum!
Moses loved the lei and cried when he broke it...isn't he a cutie...all dressed up in his Hawaiian outfit. :) He was also walking around the cookout like the party was for him, waving and saying hi to people as he passed by them. :)
They had this enormous slide that we rented...Moses braved it twice and then decided he wanted his clothes back on. :) Look at the face!
Doug had been ridiculous in spoiling me this birthday...I got these FUN bowls one day, a flash diffuser for my camera and today I got a wii fit! SO fun...even if it will tell me about my increasing weight gain. :)
I think he has a problem.
And here is an actual belly shot for you...taken two days after 12 weeks...i am pretty sure I didn't show this much with Moses at 12 weeks but here we are. :)
And we have cake!!! Yummy, delicious and perfect cake!! Goes great with the flowers my honey brought me home the other day too! He should be careful not to spoil me too much...he has to live with me. :) Not too many plans for my birthday today...life does go on you know. We went out to lunch and frozen yogurt and now both of the boys are sleeping. :) We are praying for Doug's crazy schedule to even out a bit soon...thought he did surprise me yesterday with the night off!! :)
So here's to the last year of my 20's!! Hope you are having a fabulous day!

A different kind of giveaway...

This giveaway is for those who sew. Amy Butler's Sew-it Kit. I bought this kit in hopes that I could make cool things but it turns out that I don't like to follow directions...but there are some very cool patterns and idea cards in this kits...totes, pillows, bags, etc. The only things missing from this kit if the two pieces of fabric but the rest is all there...waiting for a better sewist than me to tackle...If you like to sew you won't be disappointed. Just leave me any 'ol comment on this post and I will choose the winner on Monday. :)
Today we spent the morning getting these new spectacles for Doug. Isn't he cute in them? He tried contacts for a while but they weren't doing much for him so we went back to glasses...I love these new ones...

And this is the first baby item that I am dying to own, Kuster JellyBaby Changing Mat...to me a changing table is a necessity. This time around we are hoping to get a dresser that is the right height to use as a changing table...we bought the one we had for Moses for $25 and sold it last winter for $20. :) My favorite part of this one is that you can wipe it clean..they do sell liners but you don't really need them and it's made from memory foam! :) I think it has made it to the have to have list. :)

And I am six sales from 2000!!! :) The 2000th sale will get a surprise in with their order...the more items you purchase the bigger the surprise. :) Could it be you?

And I must confess that I went out today and got my box of chicken patties...the fillets just didn't cut it...all that whole breast fillet was faaar too healthy for what I was craving. :) And I may or may not have bought popsicles...but they are mini and the perfect size for Moses...and I may or may not be banned by my husband from the grocery store for some time...may...or may not. :)

Have a great day! xoxof

My day is full of color...

This is my friend Jessie...we were best friends in high school forever ago and (sadly) only recently have managed to get back into each others lives...she has a shop on Etsy, too and yesterday she came into town to visit...I put her to work painting my dining room. :)
Doesn't that look fresh and clean?
See my wall of memories in the corner there...simple clip frames that I add to now and then.
I just love it. Such a change.
Makes the white kitchen whiter and the blue living room bluer.
Do you know this trick? Do you see how in these photos it looks like there is a bit of crown molding around the top? Just an illusion...using painters tape, start taping off at the top of the wall and not on the ceiling. Tricks the eye and looks great, too.
For some reason Jessie insisted on buying me trims...after painting for me and buying me dinner and driving an hour to see me....I tried to stop her.
She left a bit ago and I found some goodies in my mailbox...treats for me and Moses from Janesays.
Sweet little posey tags...
And little birdy extras. :) Thanks friend...Moses is sure to love the monkey sponge...he loves to clean!
A sweet sign for the shop...
And another. Need to claim it? You know where to find me. :)
My fab sister in law sent me this recipe:

SUPER yummy---banana-chocolate chippers
oven 350
3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
2/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
2-3 over ripe or just ripe bananas (mine were super over ripe)
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 c. all purpose-flour
as many chocolate chips as you like--i added a bag
Pre-heat oven to 350
Grease a 15x10x1 (a cookie sheet) baking pan, (set aside)
Beat the butter/margarine alone with a high-speed mixer for 30 seconds, add sugars, baking powder, salt
add in eggs, banana, vanilla
add in flour, then chocolate
(you can also add chopped walnuts but i skipped them)
spread even in pan, bake for 22-24 minutes until golden brown
cool completely then cut into bars
they are a spongy cake consistency with amazing flavor--ENJOY!

Hope you are having a GREAT weekend!! :)
