I've spent my morning hustling to get shop stuff done. I've got all my new prints added to the shop.
Why does that feel like it takes so much longer than a load of laundry? Regardless, it's done!
You can buy prints HERE. Or the digital file to print yourself HERE. The original has been sold. :)
This is my "custom order Sunday" order. :) I finished up the sampler for my nephew.
I just love it. Happy, quirky, fun!
I love that it is both boy and girl friendly. :)
I hope to have a pattern available soon!
For now, you can buy a print HERE or a digital file HERE.
And I got this canvas in the shop too! You can buy the original HERE. Or a print HERE. Or a digital file HERE.
And lastly...I hope you have a lovely trick or treat time! :) We have been celebrating all weekend! First we trick or treated at the mall and then yesterday we went to a local churches fall festival.
Moses choose to attend this dressed as "Mighty Mo"...part spiderman, part batman, part captain America and part superman. Super awesome I think. :)
And while there he completely stunned me by climbing 2/3 the way up this climbing wall. I could NOT believe he went up so high without batting an eye. He has gotten so brave this last year and I could not be more proud.
I my heart though, I was preparing to toss my camera to catch him if he fell. :)
Happy trick or treating! Remember that a lot of that candy would be great to add to your Operation Christmas child boxes!

overload.
I feel like I am extra behind on blogging. Days are just whirling by in a flash...I mean it will be November in a couple of days. While I am thankful for all the business that the costume season brought...I am happy to say that this crown was the last of dozens of orders...I'm ready for next. :) And Moses was not thrilled that this crown was not for him. :)
I am not a studio photo person. Ever.
But I made an exception for this gem. Cheesy background, Moses wearing his current favorite outfit complete with a spiderman birthday ribbon and a fake apple. How could I not buy it?
Thank you junk mail for occupying my boys for a nice chunk of time. And I was pleased that not every toy in the book was circled.
Moses and I stole this crafty idea from Chrissie and it was a simple, easy, fun hit! :)
I scored big at Micheal's. Awesome stocking stuffers for $1. Yes, please.
ALMOST as good as the decent sized stash of Lego's we found at goodwill today...for .95. They were still in an original box...from 1979. Nice.
Craft room is coming right along. Every day I get a little done...it's coming together.
Today was trick or treating at the mall. I called it practice. And it was indoors (read warm on the first time I remember SNOW in Virginia in October in a long time). And these guys are the cutest batman and buzz ever. Except for the fact that while wearing this costume, Aaron WILL JUMP OFF of any piece of furniture in the house while yelling "I can fwy...to difinity and beyond!!!"
My sunny son. :)
Art of the week. :) Prints coming soon...want one? :)
And cuteness for a friend. :) It's been a full week.
Happy trick or treating! Remember to skim off the good candy when they aren't looking!

dirty Christian words.
Our kids go trick or treating. And we love Jesus.
There, I said it. It's out there.
It's a very controversial thing among us Christians. And as a parent, to little sinners who you are trying to lead the way for, you have to decide which stance your family will take on it. Either it's harmless fun or you are taking your kids door to door to sell their souls for fun size snickers. At least that is how it's been told to me. I DO think there is a right answer and I will share that at the end of this post. Just hang in there.
Last year was our first year trick or treating with the boys. Before that they weren't really old enough to warrant buying them a costume to go around and collect candy that we wouldn't let them eat anyway. Last year, we took them, they had a few pieces, forgot that the candy existed and we, as parents, hoarded the rest. :) Good deal right?
Here's hoping it goes that way again.
But you know how we, as Christians, decided whether or not to even participate? Because really we had A LOT of input from everyone we know. We researched it. We got to the root of what it means and it's history and decided whether or not it conflicted with what we, as lovers of Jesus believe. And you know what...it really doesn't. It origins have nothing to do with evil or ghouls or witches. It stems from a tradition in European countries where the poor would go house to house begging for food and drink in exchange for praying for loved ones who had died.
And my kids wear their costumes year round.
And I like fun size snickers.
All these things equal harmless fun in my book.
Has Halloween in general been distorted by society? YES...oh my goodness yes. I hate that I can't go anywhere with my kids from August through October because of all the scary stuff in EVERY store. Moses will literally walk through a store with his hands over his eyes. We made and make an effort to shield our children from all of that mess. And that is what we decided is best for us.
But at the end of the day, you know what the RIGHT answer is? The one that you pray about, learn about, research and are convicted about. Decide all that for yourself and then mind your own business.
Because come judgment day...none of us will be hearing "You were so right on about....(well anything)"...we will be answering for the choices WE made.
I don't spend time trying to convert people to trick or treating. If they ask me why I think it's ok, I share with them.
Otherwise I leave it alone. And steal fun sized snickers from my kids buckets when they aren't looking.
I will leave you with this quote I stole from my friend Sarah:
"One of the marks of a certain type of bad man is that he cannot give up a thing himself without wanting every one else to give it up. That is not the Christian way. An individual Christian may see fit to give up all sorts of things for special reasons--marriage, or meat, or beer, or the cinema; but the moment he starts saying the things are bad in themselves, or looking down his nose at other people who use them, he has taken the wrong turning."- C.S. Lewis
p.s. how adorable are my pumpkin scarecrows!!??

insta catch up.
Here's life according to instagram (you can find me by searching littlebitfunky).
Birthday waffles complete with candle. :)
Birthday surprise helper. It's harder to get a dozen huge balloons in your car with a two year old than you think. :)
Craft room is coming right along. I added a skirt to the desk made from a vintage sheet.
New Bible...hoping for some fresh discoveries after years of reading the same Bible in a year for years.
We had a very large bug friend visit us. I may have screamed while getting him in the jar for the boys to see. He was HUGE.
Trying to make the TV pretty is kind of a vain task.
Custom orders are fun.
It does.
I got these chairs at goodwill for $1.95 each. They retail at Land of Nod for $80 each. There was not a thing wrong with them except that they were covered in paint/glue/glitter...and it all came off with a magic eraser. I've been wanting little kid chairs forever...win one for patience.
Also, WHO would pay $80 for a kids chair?
A project in the making...
And since all of my supplies are OUT of this closet...ALL the toys are IN here. All organized, sorted and purged. Be still my organization loving heart.
Thank you $5 craft from target for keeping my boys quiet for some time.
Made these for dinner. Delish the day of and the day after.
Sometimes I steal a portion of the treats I make for Doug to take to work and send some to Moses' teachers. Just a little sunshine to brighten up a Monday.
Aaron wore his Buzz lightyear costume all day yesterday. Including picking Moses up from school. Everyone calling him buzz = the best day of his little life.
Fall is impossible to miss.
And a finished custom order...a cute little pin cushion nestled in a vintage pyrex cup. :)
Hope your day is a happy one! Thanks for reading!

working backwards.
Instagram photos are perfect for my life right now.
I feel like I barely have an instant to spare and I am taking photos on the run.
Here's what's been going on the last seven days...working backwards.
Hoho was forced to wear this (adorable) hat.
We went to the Highlander festival at Radford University (my alma mater).
It was COLD.
Aunt Jen saved the day by showing up with tons of hats and scarves and warm things in tow.
This is part of the chain reaction STILL going on in my house.
Everything has shifted and moved.
I wish I had done this forever ago.
I hung this TV.
While my husband watched football on it.
I'll be expecting a "awesome wife of the year".
We took the boys to meet my in-laws at Luray Caverns. AKA batman's cave.
Moses loved it. Aaron fell asleep in my arms. 100 feet underground.
I'm making progress in here.
Every day I must put away like fifty things. So I will get there.
I'm trying to decide which vintage sheet to make into a skirt for that desk.
I got cupcakes in the mail from a wonderful friend.
Happy mail makes me feel loved.
We're taking advantage of sunny warm days.
This boy is my adorable wild thing.
Organization makes me happy.
Life is full and good.
We are blessed much.
What have you been up to?

Here's what's been going on the last seven days...working backwards.
Fall has arrived here in Virgina.
You can taste it and smell it.
It's pretty glorious here.

It was COLD.
Aunt Jen saved the day by showing up with tons of hats and scarves and warm things in tow.
Despite the frigid temps Moses was a happy, happy boy.
And this one excused himself for a nap in the car. Over funned? I think so.
