Robins 2012

My robins came back this year.  You can see last years photos HERE. 

Four eggs!

They all hatched day after day...one..

...two...

 ...three...

They were doing really well.  Until one afternoon I had to chase a cat out of our yard.  :(

Then this little guy was all that was left...and he didn't make it either. 

So sad but so beautiful at the same time.

Sorry to drop such fun news on you then run! It's been a busy couple of days around here...Doug was off so we do our best to do fun things and really enjoy the family days together...we went to the lake yesterday and Moses tested out his new swim vest...he was starting to get the hang of it and really liked the freedom from us holding him that it gave him. Above is a photo of the kids section...it is all shallow and has a fun fountain...Doug and Moses are in the pic...near the rope line. In the past couple of days we also bought Moses a potty...not that we have high hopes of him using it right away but we thought it would be good to have around for him to get used to...we do put him on it right before bath...when he usually pees on the floor at the sound of the water running. :) Then today we went to story time at Barnes and Noble and got Moses an "Elmo uses the potty" book. :) We had a great couple of days...AND he is off this weekend too. :)

I have also been busy trying to stock the store up...here's a sweet little birdy that is waiting in the shop for you...needle felted by yours truly. :) Complete with her own little nest.

...cards were at an all time low and I am currently in the process of posting more as we speak...these blossom ones are my favorites...

As for our big news...we are more than thrilled and excited...blessed beyond what we could ever earn or deserve. :) I expect another perfect pregnancy. :) Moses was about as easy as they come...no morning sickness, NO stretch marks (I know you hate me, right?), very few overwhelming cravings, quick labor (too quick= no epidural)...nothing too too bad...except the 55lbs I gained with him...and the terrible sunburn I got (my dr failed to tell me that pregnant women are more prone to sunburn (I NEVER burn)and when I asked him about it his reply was "well there are a million side affects to pregnancy...we can't be expected to tell you all of them"...umm it was summer...somehow that one seemed important.)
I am slightly narcoleptic at the moment but other than that perfectly normal (except that I have already reorganized my entire house in my head...as you may guess from my current personality, pregnancy puts my productive levels into overdrive...so if you need a favor...now is the time to ask me. :)---no lie-I was recaulking the bath tub at like 8 1/2months pregnant with Moses...it HAD to be done.)

And this time we plan to find out what we are having...we didn't do that with Moses and while it was fun to find out at the very last minute, I'm pretty sure we will find out this time. :) And Meg...if you could kindly email me your address...I have some orphaned Starbucks coffee that needs a good home... :(

And already I have a wish list of things I will probably never buy...why? because I am terrible at buying things for myself...but if I were better at it here are a few things that would already be on their way to my house...

Other things on my to do list for the day:
1. Send out email and swap info.
2. Blog post about swap info?
3. Finish posting new cards/towels/house tags
4. Get giveaway ready for tomorrow.

Spring things...

They finally busted wide open....only 8 more days until spring!!!!





I am trying to only *needs* shop until my sewing machine is paid off....but Moses needed these yesterday at Target...you can't tell by this photo but they have tails!
And for all you bird lovers out there....I found these sweet birds at Lowe's the other day when I had to go back and get a second gallon of one coat paint to paint over the first coat of one coat paint...grrrrrr

So many things...

I have oh so many things to jabber on about today...not sure if any of you will find any of them interesting...or any of my posts for that matter but here they be, nonetheless.
First, will someone puh-lease tell me how absolutely cute my mantle is all Eastered up now? I found some great and darling things at Pier One and I can hardly stand to be in my living room because of how cute they all are...and cheap(no pun intended)!
First of all, I despise matchy-matchy and symmetry, so I will be buying another of those cute little bunnies so that there will be two on one side and one on the other...(I like things to come in threes-more on that at a later time)Oh my goodness...couldn't you just bite him he is SO cute!!!
These little guys are on top of my TV cabinet.
I know I said no bunnies but how could I pass these up...for $2!!
I could smack him he is so cute!

I also totally copied Scottie yesterday and made Moses these sweet fish! Karen and April, I thought of you and your wee ones when I was making these...SO easy and Moses LOVED them!!Here is a sneak preview of my current love interest. It is kind of like a soft doll house book...start saving your pennies because it will be coming to the shop when it is done...embellished 'til the cows come home.
Here is a little before and after for you. I collect shells from every beach I have been to and put them in jars. Above is how they looked before and below is the after! These will be part of my bedroom redo...one project at a time.
Look how nice and clean they look. AND the shells that I know where they are from are labeled. Ahh....organization like that makes my heart happy.
Moses was just super cute in his orange vest. :)
This is what I had for lunch...they were giving samples away at Harris Teeter and I had to have some to bring home. I may or may not have eaten enough to hurt my stomach...but at least I was having the reduced fat Triscuits, right?
Also, I got these c.u.t.e. pillows (the two multi-colored ones) at Target today for about $3 each! That is how much pillows should be. :)

Also, I heart LOST. :) And I cannot wait until The Office comes back...

So there you have it...a sneaky peek into my brain...does that make you want more or less?

In other news...

Is it just me and the southerner in me who finds this giant pineapple just fabulous? Nothing says welcome to my kitchen better than a big 'ol pineapple. I happily lugged this beauty all over TJ Max the other day and gladly paid the $14.99 listed on the price tag. Jealous?
I found the sweet birds above at my local Michaels. LOVE them...they are nestled in a bed of stale coffee beans and live in the center of my dining room table.

Today...and bedroom before pics.

still slumping it but other good things are going on. For example:
Moses is still really, really cute. He is learning to say his Aunt Carolyn's name (aah yin). He has also learned bag, and buh tuh (buster is the name of our friends dog who we stayed with in Radford-now all dogs are a buh tuh)....and uck (truck). :) I am thankful for him everyday. I also got some goodies from my SIL. I had ordered the satin hands kit from Mary Kay and SIL sent me some extra goodies because she is cool like that. It took me forever to buy this kit because I find it so much easier to buy for others and forget about me. You can go buy stuff from her HEREI also bought two of these sweet little birds from Pier One today. :) They may end up in my new room...that currently looks like this:
Don't you love how I have hardly hung anything and that the photos I did hang were covered up when I moved the bed and I have yet to move them. :) And yes, I almost always make my bed.
