Pioneer Woman Sloppy Joe (ALL in the crockpot!!)

I love the Pioneer Woman and all her excellent recipes but sometimes I wish they were a little less work and fewer dishes.

We love her sloppy joes so the last time I made them, I tried to do it all in the crockpot and it worked like a charm.

Here is how I did it:

2 tbls Butter
2-1/2 pounds ground beef or pork (I use a combo of both)
1 cup diced onion
1 diced green pepper
5 cloves minced garlic (I buy the jar of pre-minced from Trader Joes)

I add the above ingredients to the crockpot in the morning cooking on HIGH, stirring and breaking up the meat every so often.

Once the meat is cooked, I tilt to the side to ladle out and remove any grease then add the following and turn it to low:

1-1/2 cup ketchup
1 cup water
2 tbls brown sugar
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
 Worcestershire Sauce, as you like.

Allow to cook all afternoon on low and serve on your choice of rolls!

Here's link to the original Pioneer Woman recipe, which I have changed just a tad. :)
