When we went to Norway a couple of years ago, our very favorite meal was waffles served with ice cream, jam and a dusting of cocoa! It was SO yummy we had two huge servings.
Fast forward and this is how we have to have waffles in our house for a special occasion. I am putting this recipe here so I can stop googling it every time because this one tastes just like Norway!
I make them in my heart shaped waffle maker because that is how we were served them in Norway!
I hope you give them a try this way! You won't regret it!
Norwegian Waffles (with Ice Cream!)
3 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of butter (melted)
1 tsp vanilla
1 heaping teaspoon of cardamom
2 tsp of baking powder
1 bit of salt
3 cups of milk
2 cups of all purpose flour
Slowly add each item to the one above it until well combined. Bake waffles in a non-belgian waffle iron.
Serve waffles smeared with jam, topped with vanilla ice cream and a dusting of something like Nesquick for a authentic Norwegian experience!
Enjoy!

We loved the waffles when we were in Norway! I think I might need to get a waffle iron I can make them in.
