We also cannot imagine our lives without people in our home. We love hosting dinners and cookouts and holidays at our house. Our table is constantly full of people and we love it. We place a lot of value on making sure our house is welcoming and a warm place that people love to be in. That includes all the senses: sight, sound, feel, taste and maybe most importantly, smell!
In the past, that "welcoming" feeling has been hampered by the smell of a litter box. With previous cats, in previous homes we have tried every litter under the sun but still, the first thing you always smell when you walk in the door is "litter box" and that does not feel welcoming or warm.
We have lived in tiny little apartments with a cat where there is nowhere to hide the litter box...or its smell. In fact, in our first apartment the litter box was about six feet from the entry door. You knew the moment you stepped in our apartment that a cat lived there. NOT an appealing smell when you've invited people over for dinner.
Unfortunately, no matter how big or how small our living space has been, the litter box smell has continued to be a problem. Enter
ARM & HAMMER™ Clump & Seal™ MicroGuard™ Cat Litter. We were recently asked to give the product a whirl and see what it did to give that warm and welcoming feeling we love to our home.
We were not disappointed. We thought our previous litter was not doing a bad job but it turned out to be one of those things where you don't know better so you don't do better. We can definitely do better now! It did a great job of containing smells and preventing the odors that come from "old" litter.
Their 7-Day Odor Control guarantee lived up to its name. The difference, I think, is their MicroGuard™ formula. Even after you scoop, bacterial odor can keep growing. MicroGuard™ technology works to prevent bacterial odors before they begin and heavy-duty odor eliminators plus ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda destroy immediate odors on contact. Not to mention, ARM & HAMMER™ Clump & Seal™ MicroGuard™ Cat Litter forms tight clumps for easy scooping, and the ultra-low dust formula keeps my floors clean when Gertrude steps out of the litter box.
We've been pleasantly pleased at the results of a little switch. Gertrude is happy and our table can remain full without a screen of odors. Happy cat. Happy family.

I try to prevent odors by cleaning the boxes thoroughly even washing them on the bottoms and sides and drying them dry. I sift the litter to one side and get whats in there out then wash and then to the other side and wash I hope that helps more than a usual scooping.
I prevent litter box odors by using very large boxes with lids and a LOT of litter. I also dip them every other day (have two boxes and two cats, so that is all that is needed).
