what i made for Monday {cinnamon roll cake}

Cinnamon and sugar anything is my favorite and this cake is not an exception to that!  I love to make cinnamon rolls but they can be a little time consuming but this cake is literally the next best thing!  It will be going into my vault of trusty recipes for sure!  It goes together quickly and everyone is sure to love it! Follow along as I make some and find the recipe at the bottom! :) 
The batter should be nice and smooth...
For the cinnamon goodness part, you will want to melt your butter to about this point, somewhere between softened and melted.  Too much either way and it doesn't as nicely.  
Once you have your mixture ready, you will pour it over the cake batter and mix it all around.  
A good way to gauge many baked goods "done-ness" is to watch the sides, when done the edges will begin to pull away from the side of the pan like so. 
The cinnamon swirl will create all sorts of good cracks and crevices.  Promptly fill them with the sugary topping.  
And you're done! The perfect thing to share, for brunch or potlucks!  Hope you LOVE it, too!

Cinnamon Roll Cake!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Prepare a 9 by 12in pan by greasing the bottom and sides. 

For the cake:
3 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 cups of milk
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1/2 cup butter, melted
Combine everything BUT butter, then slowly add that in at the end. 

For the cinamonny goodness:
1 cup butter, somewhere between softened and melted.  See photo above. 
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Blend together, pour over cake and using a spoon handle, swirl it all around. 
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-40 minutes.  It's done when the middle no longer has a "jiggle" to it and the edges begin to pull away from the sides. 
For the sugary goodness:
2 cups powdered sugar
5 tablespoons of milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine and pour over warm cake.  

Enjoy with a glass of milk or cup of coffee! :)

So I had to split this into 2 dishes ( ovens in Spain are super tiny). I'm taking them to our 1st MOPS Meeting tomorrow, where I'm co-coordinator, yikes, super scary for me given I've only been to one meeting before ever and I hate getting up in front of people, the theme this year is be brave.... I'm breaking out and being brave. In fact our steering team is 90% fresh, yep that other 10%has been to meetings before, the rest of us... Not so much. If you don't mind saying a small prayer for us, we can use every bit of strength tomorrow.
