raising my ebenezer - expecting the finale

So here we are, about a year and a half after our last chapter of Ebenezer.  Life at home has been great.  Amazing and fun and we KNOW that this is where we are supposed to be.  Life has been so good to us this last year and a half.  Not perfect but smooth.  Not easy but a far cry from where we were not too long ago.  If you'd like to catch up to now, you can read all the parts below:

Part ONE Part TWO Part THREE Part FOUR Part FIVE Part SIX

Need proof that God is still at work in all of our lives?  You will find that in the links above.

And I can feel the air changing for the finale to this long journey.  You know how a wave pulls back from the shore before it crashes its' way to the beach?  Yep, that is where we are right now.

Things have changed and God is at work again.  Our test is not over.  He's ready to do something big.

The short story is this:  We still own a home in Charlottesville.  A nice home.  And our renters just bailed on us with a lot of lease left.  We've decided that this is the time to sell.  I have always heard miraculous house selling stories and could never believe the amazingness of them.  I'd like to have an unbelievable house selling story to tell.  And I feel like God is working on that.

It's going to take a lot of work.  I'm already tired and busy but God is good.  We feel like this is Him telling us to MOVE.

I'm going to reread the previous Ebenezer stories to remind myself of all that He has already done.  And if you need a little encouragement today, I beg you to do the same!  Leave your need in the comments and I will add it to my prayer list today!

Have a fabulous week!

I will pray! I, too, have heard some amazing house selling stories. I was just reading about one last week, from a woman who actually inspired me about the prayer request I'll share with you. I think you've seen me post I have a heart for Courage House and couragetobeyou.org, a ministry for girls rescued from the sex trade, but is at least 6 hours away. It's been my hope that God might move us nearby, especially recently when my husband was applying to school districts around the state. This came up in a conversation last week and the woman tells me, "you know there's a newer safe house for rescued prostitutes very very close by, right?" Um, what?! Within the week I get to start volunteering, to be apart of a Bible study with them! It brings me to tears, our Lord and Savior is so sweet and so good. He had a reason for keeping us here, and my prayer is that He provides a counseling job for my hubby here, too. It's a long shot, but maybe, just maybe a position will be open here soon. He is trustworthy and faithful and He moves mountains for us, doesn't He?!

Keep your heads up. I'm sure that the house will sell soon. Just remind yourselves of all the wonderful times that you spent there. God does have a plan. Thank you for sharing your story and reminding us of his work in our lives.

Thank you for sharing. I really needed to read all of this. I like Doug work for a Company that has made promise after promise and finally, I got part of what I asked for. So now my promotion is here and I have a medical c condition so for the last 3-4 months I've saved leave for a surgery I need. Of course the surgery happened right after my promotion. So now I'm out of leave and struggling to work but still need to heal. I know the creator is here with me, I pray for your house to sell. Thank you. Thank you for sharing and caring. :)

I just read all 6 parts of your story and I thank you so much and praise God that you were obedient in writing what God had placed on you heart (even if they were more for you then us, He uses it!). We have a story somewhat similar to yours. We felt God was telling us to move. My husband applied all over the state and got a job about 3 hours away. We put our house up for sale, it didn't sell. We couldn't find a house where we were moving because apparently there is more people than houses because of a recent oil strike (or something). We waited and looked some more and questioned if this was the route God really wanted us to go. We prayed if it was that everything would fall into place. We put our house on the rental market and within a week had it rented to someone we are hopeful is going to be an ideal tenant. We found a house that is super old but with tons of space. We feel so blessed and excited for what God has in store for us in this new town. There is one prayer request, though, and that is God will provide for us in this house. The rent is pretty steep and we are nervous we will barely be scraping by every month. We feel strongly this is where God has placed us and He wouldn't have put us in this house without a plan to provide so we are leaning heavily on that faith. Thanks again for sharing your story. I always love to hear how God works in peoples lives!
