a {funky} quilt for Elena!

My best friend just had her third little baby...a girl.  Just the motivation I needed to get this quilt top finished off (having technically been a completed quilt top since November of 2012).
Made using a pezzy layer cake and some other patterns from my stash...the result is a super cute, super funky quilt, just the right size for cuddling up or taking along.
I love the wonkiness of it...and the little rainbow peeking out of the bottom.  I just made a bunch of half-square triangles and stitched them together in rainbow order.
I sent it off to a local quilter...then did the binding in leftover binding that I had on hand...making for an extra layer of funkiness.

I just love how happy it is.  Welcome to the world Elena!  May you always be cozy! :) xo

Oh, I love it. It's beautiful. Great job Crystal. I have a question, it looks so perfectly not too puffy. Does that make sense? Like you said, 'the right size to take along'. How did you do this? did you use thinner batting? Or does it just look this nice when you get it machine quilted? Thank you!

Love love the quilt and especially the oval geometric fabric in all the great colors. Do you by chance know the name of the fabric or where I can get it. I am so inspired to make something with it.
