You can use any and all color of beads and wire.
Here is what you need:
20-22 gauge wire-both produce a little different look
small beads that will fit on your wire
wire pliers (that is not what they are called is it? but that is what comes to mind so I am going with it)
a round object that is roughly the size you will want of the INSIDE of your nest...a spoon handle, marker or something like that.
Leaving a 2-3in tail start to wrap your round object with wire...
Wrap around lots of times...15 or so depending on the gauge of your wire...or whatever suits your fancy...
...slide the wire off when you are done wrapping......use your little tail to wrap around the nest once to hold everything together...cut the other tail (still attached to the wire supply) down to 6-8in...
...add your beads...
...curl the ends in with your pliers to hold them on there...
...curl that wire around the cozy them down in the nest...
...start to wrap your nest...around and around...
...in and through...
...when your long tail is down to 3-4in it's time to make loop for hanging...
...straighten it UP...
...fold it down...
...twist...
...and then continue to wrap around the nest if need be...then tuck the end into the nest. Be sure to hide the end of the wire well so it won't snag clothes or skin!
...and you are done. Go make some for every lady you know!!

I saw the colored bead one on facebook and fell in love! I know you said it'd be good for foster Moms, but I also thought it would be good for teacher. We have so many "little birds" that come into our nest when we teach and minister to children that this would be perfect!
So very, very cute. Will have to give these a try :) Thanks for sharing.
I can't think of a Gram that wouldn't want this hanging around her neck or made into a brooch! Love!
Love these! Can't wait to make one! Not sure I could make one for my mom though- seven beads would be tricky! I will definitely be wearing one soon however! Thanks for sharing!!
Crystal, you are awesome! Thank you for this great tutorial, I can't wait to try it!

Wow this is so much easier than it looks! I'm going to make one for my mom, with five eggs to symbolize my brother and I, and her three grandkids. Thanks for sharing!

So cute! I've made a bunch of these (they're on my blog) and I'm actually wearing one right now.
Awesome tutorial! I have a feeling my mom will be getting one of these for Mother's Day. And I am totally stealing another commentor's idea of a teacher's gift - how cute would that be!! Thanks for sharing Crystal!
Love, love, love this! Thanks for the tutorial!
Wow!
Where did you buy your beads? I can't find round, colorful ones at Michaels or Joann. mccallnewland@gmail.com
