Best Buy Review- Num 6-Fitbit

Hi friends! Are you enjoying learning about all of these new products? Did you have any idea that any of them even existed? Maybe it's just me, but I am learning that I know very little about the variety of healthy living type aides that are out there. It's been a lot of fun to be put in the position of having to learn, try, use and get to know a product and then share it with others. I hope you've been enjoying them, too! This weeks product up for review is the Fitbit. Yet again, another product I knew NOTHING about upon opening the box, but by far the coolest one so far! I have been amazed at the vast amount of things that this little beauty can do...it monitors the number of steps you take, flights of stairs you climb, calories you burn and gives you places to log your food, mood and more! It also monitors your sleep! It's like a few of the products I have used so far, all wrapped up into one!
Set up was a little tricky...it didn't seem to have a good flow to it, BUT I managed to get it all set up in about 15 minutes or so. Once you charge it up all you have to do is clip it on and you literally forget all about it. I wore it on one of the suggested places and didn't think about it for the rest of the day. It's very small and lightweight. Part of the set up process is setting up an online account that you sync up to occasionally, I did it daily. Above is a screen shot of my first partial day, I didn't get it put on until late in the day but it is still very interesting to see. I love seeing the number of steps taken and the number of miles traveled.
I have a feeling that this will be my favorite and most disliked feature! The pie chart shows your level of various levels of activity throughout the day and the bar graph shows the times of day that you were most active. You can tell that I put the Fitbit on and did my morning workout, you can tell when I sat down to work, when I was cleaning and even when my boys were napping! At least, I can tell! It's nice to get a visual aid like this to encourage me to get off my bum, at least when I'm not sewing! Not only is this a GREAT product but I also love the format and set-up of the online account. There is room to journal a lot of what you deal with in a day, food, activity, etc. There are several goals for you to set, meet and earn online badges for. The online account is very easy to navigate and the overall feel of it is happy and calm. Another feature that I have really enjoyed is being able to take it off mid-day and click through some of the items it keeps track of, like a mid-day check in. See the little button on the top of the Fitbit? You just click on that and you can see how many calories you've burned, steps you've taken, etc. A GREAT way to help you stay on track, ramp it up, skip desert or take a break! Amazingly, I have nothing bad to share about the product. Other than my tiny snags with set up, that could very well be my fault, I am absolutely in love with this and look forward to using it to meet my health and fitness goals!

Ah. A health and fitness goal of mine... Is to lose at least 30 pounds of my 45+ weight gain during this pregnancy. I want to lose 30 the first month after baby (that's possible, right??!) then the remaining 15-20 within the next 8-10 months (more practical, I know). :) This gadget looks awesome!

I would love a fitbit to help me be more active. I'm not actually trying to lose weight, but will be having my first child in May and would love to have actual data about my movement levels throughout the days. Thanks for this opportunity!

My ultimate fitness goal is to get back down to 160 pounds (I'm currently sitting around 215-I've lost 40 lbs.)..I'm taking it small chunks at a time!

I challenge myself to get in as many steps a day. I will walk in place as I fold laundry. I will make as many trips as I can carrying only one thing at a time downstairs. When I put laundry away I will only allow one pile at a time. Sometimes I set my timer and when it goes off (15-30 minutes), I will go and do 5 minute of step up. I love fitness and am training for a Marathon in April.

Oh wow, this one seems really cool. Well, fitness goals right now are to stay healthy enough to deliver twins this summer, then drop the weight by the end of the year. :)

I haven't been able to be as active this winter as I usually am due to illness. Now that I'm better, I would love to win this little gadget. I know it would help me get more motivated and back to exercising on a regular basis. I do take the stairs rather than the elevator and always park as far away from the entrance as possible.
