flower num. 5 & 6 frayed rolled roses

welcome to flower week day five!!

let me start by saying that i realize that i am not showing you anything NEW...i realize that others have done these same tutorials before (their way)....that some (lots of) people sell flowers like these...but i thought it would be fun to share how to make FUN and funky flowers HERE on my own blog...with my own wonderful readers...in my own words and ways. :) you ready to make some?
we start once again with a 2in by 40-44in piece of fabric...
...tie a knot at the end...
...from there you will do a combo of folding and rolling and twisting...
...when you get a little ways...stick a bit of hot glue on the underside to hold it in place...
...the best way to get good form...is to fold your fabric down the middle...
...and twist it to give you nice rolls...
 ...roll...fold...tuck...glue...
...and keep going until you get to the end...
...it's best to put a tiny bit of glue on the underside of the "petals"...
 ...see...
....this is to show you what it looks like before you wrap and glue it...
...the look of your flower will depend on how tightly you wind it...
...you'll have to practice a bit (and burn your fingers) to get it just the way you like it...
...when you're done...glue it to some felt and trim off the excess. :)
....alternatively, you could make it like this...rolling the fabric into a tight rope...and gluing down as you go...
...the front one is the folded...the back one is the rolled...
have fun experimenting! :)

come back tomorrow for ONE more way to make these...

This is the best tutorial for this flower. So glad I happened across this. You are a lifesaver. Keep up the good work. May the work of your hands flourish.
