shred update.

(one of hoho's preferred tv viewing positions).
many of you have been asking about how i am doing with the
30 day shred

and i'm happy to report that i finished my 30 days on wednesday!!

30 (nearly) consecutive days of exercise is my LIFETIME best.
i really think you can add up ALL of the other days of my life that i have exercised and not get to 15 whole days.  i'm pretty proud of myself.

i won't be showing you another after photo...because it would look pretty much the same as the last one i showed at 15 days...except my abs are much more noticeable and if you squint a little bit you can see a six pack.  showing a photo here of my midsection is just a bit too far past my modesty level. :)

but i will tell you that before this 30 days i would NEVER, ever consider wearing a bikini of any sort and now if i really wanted to i would.  but again...i have found that wearing a bikini these days is just a bit too far past my level of modesty.

i can feel a huge difference when i put my hands on my hips and waist...they are much slimmer and trim.  i have more energy...i FEEL stronger...and leaner and overall feel like my body likes me a little better.  i am pretty pleased with seeing all my hard work pay off.

today i've started jillian micheal's yoga meltdown...totally more booty kicking than i thought and from here on out i think we will be doing a mix of this new dvd and the shred.

some things i am MOST proud of though...besides the physical change and having lowered the chances of someone saying that i look great "for having two kids"...are two things...

1-the example i am being to my boys.  i want my boys to be HEALTHY and ACTIVE.  and that won't happen magically.  they will need parents who are HEALTHY and ACTIVE.  at the end of every single workout moses or hoho will say "good job mom!".  and that means the world to me.

2- i am SO proud of how many of you have followed my example.  i am totally blown away by the number of emails or comments or facebook statuses i have seen that have said "because of you, i am doing this".  that makes me so happy for YOU making a good change in your life.  it feels good to encourage people in a healthy direction and i have really lost track of the number.  keep it up and keep me posted! :)

so tell me...how are YOU doing?

I was just wondering how you were doing! Today is day 7 for me. I love how I feel after the workout, but I need to start doing it first thing in the morning. I've had a few late in the day workouts that have been dreadful! Congratulations on sticking with it!

Crystal--I'm curious. When did you find time in your day to do your workouts?

I just started yoga meltdown too & it's no joke! I am a sweaty mess after it. It's a nice change of pace from the shred though, so I am switching them up as well :)

I ordered the Shred. It showed up at my door. I did two days of it. Then found out I was pregnant. That was that. I'm looking forward to trying again in a few months.

oh, well, i hate to say it, but i fell off the jillian wagon. i didn't mean to, it just happened. i did play pickleball for about 8 hours last week! so, in that sense i think i've done well!! great job! you are better than me ;-)

We're (my husband and I) are on day 14 of the shred. We have only skipped a few days here and there because of necessity. It is always so much harder after skipping a day. I am excited to get throught the thirty days and start a new one. Maybe Ripped in 30 or maybe the yoga one. We'll see. :)

Regarding the 30 Day Shred: I am doing. After day 15 I had to take a week off thanks to bronchitis and two types of strep. I have picked back up where I left off (almost - I went back to level 1 to get a handle on things) and am plugging along full force. I have lost a clothing size since starting. I feel incredibly strong and proud of myself for being able to do it! I follow it up every day with a 2.5 mile interval run on my treadmill. It was completely your posting about this that got me motivated to do it, and I thank you! Since I'm unable to do Curves (I do Weight Watchers instead) this has been a *great* replacement. Congratulations on your 30 day accomplishment!!

Since you love the "because of you" comments... I have decided to try the shred because of you! I noticed today that they have it on netflix. I am putting it on my queue and I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yeah. So. Um. I too bought the dvd. I'm not sure Jillian Michaels is human and I'm pretty sure that level 1 work out is against the Geneva Convention. But...here's to day 2!!!! (Did I mention it hurt to put on deodorant this morning? That's just wrong!!!)

Awesome! I switched over to ripped in 30 from Power 90 - on day 5 and I can get off the potty by myself finally :) She really pounds you into shape.

I'm a 'because of you' one aswell. Just done my day four earlier. I had never heard of Jillian - from Northern Ireland - but I loved the idea of only 20 minutes a day. So far, so good - now if only I could walk like a normal person again....

Thanks for the inspiration - here's hoping I have as good results as others have talked about.

Keep healthy girls!

Because of you I also started the 30 day shred. I have to admit I had to skip day 2 because I hurt so bad. Now I have a cousin, my mother and sister are doing it too. See what you started; you're a good example to so many more than you think. And, I so love how modest you are. Most people would want to go out and flaunt there new bod, but not you. Because you're AWESOME!
