bag winner {and etc}

So...the winner of the lovely owl bag...that will be just like the one above is YOU.  If that is you...could you kindly email me in the next couple of days to claim your new adorable new Fall bag.

If that is not you...so sorry...I wish I could give you all one...but I can make a couple for some of you.  I bought enough of those fabrics to make a couple more of these...if you would like one you can still get one: ) I'll be listing a couple tonight along with...

A small shop update that includes only TEN hoho's! :) I'm shooting for about 7:30pm EST.

And a request for you.  I have promised Doug that I would send him to his Monday meetings every week with a homemade baked goodie to share with his colleagues and hopefully make those meetings a little easier...and it is my little way to show him that I love him and support him and his career...

So, from you, if you don't mind, could you share your favorite go-to baked good?  You know, the one that everyone always wants the recipe for? I'd love you forever...and my husband may as well.

:) See you tonight! :)

Aaaack! I am soooo loving the green hoho with the polka dot pocket! Hopefully I'll be fast enough to catch it in the shop! They're tricky little boogars... they seem to disappear so quickly... ;)

It could just be my computer, but there is no link on the "you" in your post! Can it be me, pretty please? :)

what do you mean, it's YOU? Like, Me? or was there somebody named "you"? I think I forgot to leave you wonderful comments to 'enter to win'...so it's probably not me. or maybe I did?! Can you tell I'm a confused blog reader!?
Maybe b/c I"m the first response, I'll win. probably not, though. Have a good day. Thanks. Erica in VA (I'm a friend of Sarah Rachel J...who knew you from church at Radford, I think...) LOVE YOUR BLOG!

My bunco group always requests that I make Julie's (joyshope) Lazy Mama Cookies.http://www.joyshope.com/2008/07/lazy-mamas-cookies.html

And a batch of brownies from the box that had andes mints crumbled on top of them straight out of the oven got tons of money at my son's cub scout raffle.

I do not have a go-to baked good, but my friend does--those 7 layer bars with coconut, chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, etc.

Easy, easy bars. We call them Peggy Bars named after my friend Marcia's husband's aunt named Peggy who made this recipe up! :) Enjoy!!
1 box yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1 stick butter or margarine
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Mix the cake mix, eggs and butter together. It will be thick. Spread about half the batter on the bottom of a greased 9x13 pan. Then melt the chocolate chips together with the sweetened condensed milk in the microwave until smooth (I do it at 45 second intervals and just keep stirring). Pour the chocolate mixture over the batter in the pan. Then take the remaining half of the batter and drop it by spoonfuls over the top of the chocolate. You will get a marbleized looking bar...yum!! Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Hope you and your hardworking husband enjoy!

I have a lemon bar recipe that my mom always made as a kid - it looks and tastes far more complicated than it is because it's a Bisquick based recipe.

I found it online here: http://www.ifood.tv/recipe/lemon-squares-3

Good luck!

my easyiest, best at vanishing the quickest dessert recipe is on the sm instant oatmeal container. If I am in a jam I actually get the container and open it right there in the store b/c the recipe is on the underside of the top.
The only changes I make is that instead of Raisins I use Cranberries or a combo of both & I also add 1 C of chocolate chips.

Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin/Cranberry Chocolate Chip Cookies:
1/2 lb(2 sticks) maragarin or butter,(softened-not melted*if the butter melts it really ruins the recipe)
1 C firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 C granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 Cups of All purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnimon
1/2 tsp sat(optional)
3 Cups Quaker Oats(quick or old fashioned,uncooked )
1 Cup Raisins or Cranberries
1 cup of Chocolate Chips

1. Heat oven to 350
2. beat together maragarine and sugars until creamy
3. add eggs and vanilla and beat well
4. add combined flour, baking soda, cinnimon and salt: mix well
5. stir in oats and raisins and chocolate chips
6 drop by rounded tablespoonfulls onto a ungreased cookie sheet
7. bake 10-12 minutess or until golden brown
8. cool 1 minute on the cookie sheet andremove to wire rack.
makes about 3 1/2 dozen

I will normally buy the off brand oats if I have the recipe on hand otherwise I have to buy the Quaker brand to get the recipe off the lid.

I know you have so many comments that you must shuffle through- but I was clicking on some of your side links and had a hard time getting to "creativehomemakers.blogspot.com. I think the link posted is missing the "s" on the end of homemakers. Thanks for all the creative ideas you share! Thanks for the great links as well.

put half a brownie batter in a 9x13 then lay down two of the giant symphony bars you can get in the candy aisle (not up by the registers) at the grocery store, then pour the other half of the batter over the top. bake according to brownie recipe. soo good!!! Kelly
