And I apologize that it is just me again this week...I
have just not had enough time to research new crafters.
Today we will learn to make a Crystal applique.I call it that because I have no idea if this is
how normal people do it...this is what I
came up with. :)
You will need:
cardstock
fabric
Wonder Under
First, print out your template onto card stock. This is American Typewrite in 850 font.
Second, cut it out. 
Fourth, iron your wonder under onto the wrong side of your fabric. 
Fifth, cut it out. :) 
Sixth, peel backing and iron onto your item of choice then run a zig zag stitch around the edges.
Done and done. Now you can make anything cute.

Beautiful, and so simple! You could use this idea for clothes as well as household items such as cushions or tea towels. I'm going to give it a try!

Awww, you shouldn't have. You can send my cute new shirt with my initial to... Just kidding, lol. That's really cute and I like that font. That's how I applique too. I wasn't really sure either, but that's also how I did it when I tried. Happy Tuesday!

wow... that is way easier then what I have been doing. I have been creating my templates by hand and then cut the fabric out and pin, pin, pin... which I hate... this seems so much easier. thanks :)

wow fabulous and thanks for sharing with us all! i was just admiring all your creativeness and wanting to try something like this for my boys - gave up looking online for a tutorial and then just happened to scroll down your blog...........must have missed the 20 min crafter yesterday. oh how you just gave me motivation to get a few things done quicker so i can go back to sewing fun things ;)
Hi Crystal! Just tried your idea. My little boy is only 8 months so my shirt is tiny. The "r" is tiny as well. I ended up straight stitching around it because the zig zag stitch was hard on such a small letter. Hopefully second attempt will be better. But thanks for the tutorial. I made wal-mart plaid shorts and a blue shirt look like kelly's kids! :)

I need some helpful hints to pee the wonder under.......i always fray the corner i start peeling from....any hints?

Just wanted to add on to your tutorial a few helpful hints :o) You can rotate your image in Word and/or PowerPoint and then print it off onto cardstock. It will then be in reverse print. Lay your wonder under on top of your image, paper side up, and trace your image using a pencil. Cut roughly around your wonder under letter and place rough side down onto your fabric and iron on. Use the pointy end of your scissors to "very" lightly score the paper so that you can remove it without fraying your fabric. This saves you a step of having to cut out your letter twice :o) Hope you don't mind me butting in :o) This is what I do on a daily basis for my small business so I thought I would share my shortcuts i've learned through trial and error.

Do I have to use the iron on wonder stuff? Or can I just zigzag the fabric directly onto the shirt?
