It's cute and all...but my baby's socks are not that cute on their own.
They are cute mind you...but not "looks like they were just made to be an advent" cute.
You know?
So I one upped Martha.
24 baby socks
24 tiny clothes pins
about 3/4 yard of various fabrics
(I bought 2 fat quarters then used scraps I had)
tulle (if and whatever color you desire)
ribbon long enough to go where you will be hanging this. :)
safety pins
numbers 1-24...printed on card stock
(search on etsy for "number tags")

You really can't go wrong...you can even rip them if you like that look.
So I cut those up too...same size strips...some with snaps...just cause.
Don't worry...your husband LOVES it when you put holes in the mantle.
I was going for obnoxiously full...but you might like a little full.
There is no wrong.
I'll take a photo of that when we see the sun again.
A super cute keepsake advent...
made from sweet little socks and clothes I couldn't part with.
I made one for each of the boys and plan on
filling the socks with little treats to
count down the days until Christmas!
Take that Martha!

I love this advent calendar, and the fact that you used some of your boys' clothes! What a great way to re-use some of those baby clothes that are so hard to part with! :)
You so kicked Martha's butt!
This is fantastic!!! My daughter needs socks (baby's feet grow so fast!) so I think I'll buy her new ones and then when Christmas is over we can take them down and use them! She'd be getting socks for Christmas anyway and that is really really cute!
How freakin' adorable is this advent banner....I see you creativity showing...awesome!!!
Have a fabulous day!!
xOxO Nerina :)
So fun. So fresh. Love the garland and the little socks....well, that is just delicious. There is always something about those little baby feet. I seem to lose socks anyways all the time!
WAY better than Martha's version!
That's very cute Crystal! Wish my boys were still that little. Most of their stuff has been passed on to other families now. Take care!
Oh, what great idea and I just love yours...so talented!! Love it!!
awesome!
So adorable, I love this idea. And yours is way better than Martha's!
Oh, now THAT is just adorable! What a cute idea!
i made one last year - but with a new baby in the house, i want to add some of her socks on there -- and after seeing yours, mine needs to be redone! yours is so adorable - love the ribbon strips and the tag numbers! i need to get to work on mine!
I did claim my red letter prize, thank you!!
Girl, you just blew Martha right out of the water! Awesome job. I'm SUPER impressed and inspired. :)
Who needs Martha anyway? Yours is so cute!
so so cute!
Martha has nothing on you . . .
That's just darling!
LOVE this! It looks so fun and festive and so stinkin' cute!!! Great job. You totally beat Martha! Woohoo!
Today in my world it will be Little Bit Funky today. We are having crock pot baked potato soup, pumpkin pie tarts and I think I'm going to whip out the sewing machine that has been packed away for about 6 years:) Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh yeah, that's way cuter than Martha's :) I can't wait to try it!
Very sweet and I like your version better than Martha's good job.
I LOVE this! Adorable!
Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuv it!!!!! I am going to try this one for sure!!
What an adorable project! Love it. Hope you don't mind my visiting your blog!
this is just too stinking cute!!! I love it! Way to top Martha!
Very cute. I did a similar thing with little mittens. I like the look of the ribbon better than the sting and greenery that I used, though, so I may borrow!
Just wanted you to know that I referenced your blog today. http://heleadethk.blogspot.com/2009/12/baby-sock-advent-calendar.html
