because i am impatient.

I JUST finished this!!! :)
Literally. I need to clean it up and iron it still.
I mostly followed the pattern...
I admit that I changed it in some areas that made sense to me to change.
Does this still count?
The little apron is made from a tea towel that my mother in law embroidered...she gave me a couple and after ruining one with staining I found that I was afraid to use this one...so I put it on a dress for my little niece...who loves cats.

But I can't decide...should I take out the "Saturday" bit...or leave it there?

:)

Leave it. It is sooooooo cute. I want to make one for my little girl now. I'll have to go and buy the pattern.

i say leave it! that's adorable! i have a whole set of sun-sat. tea towels with mice on them doing various household chores and made pillowcase dresses for the girls. i get lots of compliments on them. i think it makes it more charming. great job! very kitschy!

I say leave it. What a great way to pass on a piece of family crafts and traits. I like it with the Saturday and it gave me a great idea to do something the same with the ones that I have from my grandmother. Cute dress!

I say leave it, it adds charm.

It would be a splurge for sure, but I was just looking at dish towels/tea towels on Anthropologie's website, they're adorable!

This is so cute! I love it! I would leave the "Saturday" there...it looks very authentic and vintage like that. Can you give your honest feedback as to whether or not the pattern was hard to follow? As someone too that does not like patterns AT ALL and prefers blog tutorials any day, I am interested to know how difficult this was. Thanks for sharing your adorable creation~

I think you should keep the "saturday", very cute!

Way back when, I used to make a lot of my clothes and I always modified patterns and I think it totally counts. Great job!

Well, for sure I'm in the minority. I think the dress is adorable, but I would take the Saturday off. I'm a little anal retentive and unless it was actually Saturday, I wouldn't be dressing my DD in it, so I guess I'd limit it's usage.. but that's just me, LOL.

Ditto that. What changes did you make to the pattern? I have three cut out and collecting dust as we speak.
