We are back and rapidly getting settled into our routine...while we do that...here is some food for thought...my brother in law sent me this in an email and I can't stop thinking about it...or how right on it is...so I posted it here to remind me...Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Country
(edited to add...I was made aware that this is not originally by Billy Graham...however...the sentiments still ring true. :) )

'Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your
direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call
evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our
spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor
and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it
welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have
shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to
discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused
power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions
and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and
pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the
time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search
us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us
free. Amen!'
Commentator
Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and
received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.
With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and
wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation
under God.'
Feel free to leave your two cents. :)

I agree with every word Billy Graham said....every word. Our country I believe is in a position like its never been before and MANY christians are asleep or blind. I post things on my facebook ALL the time that are political and christian and those things get fewer comments than where I went shopping or what color should I paint something. Im SO concerned about our country and believe christians should be saying...OH NO you are NOT going to sign that bill saying Gays can have more rights or giving more freedom to abortion. But we dont. We are silent and barely notice. Im thankful you put this on your blog. Christianity is dying in America and people just seem to be ho hum about this.
I think God is being pushed further and further away. It was so grea to see after 9/11 all the signs that read "God bless America" and "In God we Trust". Now those sentiments are gone and everyone is forgetting how much the Lord has done for our country. I have very strong religious views especially when it comes to gay marriage and wish we were, like it said "One nation under God". Thanks for sharing such awesome truths.
A great prayer! But I thought I'd point out that it isn't actually by Billy Graham:

Welcome home, and I hope you all settle back in to your routine quickly!
