A riddle...

What do these three guys have in common?

Answer: they are what you find, clanging around in your dryer after you forget to check your toddlers pockets before doing the wash!

So. MOPS today was WONDERFUL. Moses was PERFECT!!! Not a single tear. Not one. I dropped him off, he kissed me goodbye and was looking for me when I came back. No tears the whole time! :) I left there with that ever illusive feeling a parent craves...the "maybe I am doing something right after all" feeling. He said "bye-bye" and "thank you" all the way to the car. I could not have planned it any more perfectly.

And I was fine too. I had a nice chat with the sweet lady in charge of the children's program the night before. I asked her a million questions and she answered them all with sweetness, not for a second making me feel like a weirdo for being THE ONLY MOM to ask any of the childcare staff questions about what goes on and how they hire staff, etc. I am still amazed that I was literally the only one to investigate the childcare at all AM I weird for that? I thought everyone did that. I just don't ever want to have to say "I didn't think to ask". :)

Anywho. That's us today...all the while with thoughts of Sept 11th 7 years ago tucked in the corner of my mind...can you believe it was that long ago? The wound it left still seems so fresh...I can still remember the exact moment I found out...I was being picked up from class...where were you?

thanks for your prayers...they obviously made an impact on my life today!
xoxo

Although church is often a safe place and most certainly should be a safe place I think many parents relax too much and do not ask the questions. They think nothing will ever happen....ITS CHURCH. Well, things do happen at church. I think its great you ask questions and more parents should. Im actually am a staff worker for the childrens dept at my church that runs about 2,000. We have A LOT of kiddos and we take protecting our kids very seriously. In fact we take it so seriously we annoy a lot of parents..lol
Im SO glad it went well!!!

Thanks for mentioning Sept. 11. I just did a post on my experience if you want to read it. I have not seen many blogs even mention it, so perhaps it seems I have overdone it, but maybe I felt that was done in an attempt to make up for the lack of it in other posts. Plus I never fully shared my experience. Even what I wrote was quite abbreviated. Glad prayers are working!! Take care.

I had just gotten up and turned on the Today show..everything fine, then I get out of the shower, look at the TV and the world is falling apart. My roommates and I stayed glued to the tv that day as we had no classes and a relative of one of the roommates worked at the Pentagon (or WTC, I can't remember) Anyway, I'm glad MOPS was a good experience! We still haven't left Colleen with anyone else and it will definately be a shock when we do (maybe pre-school in a year)

GLAD you had a good time and a positive experience at MOPS today!! :) On 9-11 I was in my dorm room in my first week of college... class was cancelled that day and we all huddled around the TV to watch the news all day... what a sad memory, but one that will forever remind us what our country stands for and what we continue to fight for!!

I'm so glad y'all had a good day!

I was dressed for school, sitting on my bed watching Regis and Kelly. The first plane hit and they were thinking it was an accident. They were showing live footage of the twin towers when suddenly Kelly starting saying "oh no, oh no" and that's when I saw the second plane come into view and then hit the second tower. I started screaming for my mom to come watch. Awful.

You are not at all weird. It's good to ask questions about childcare. Very good indeed.

So glad all went well today, sweet friend. Warms my heart. =-)

Happy to hear that all went well and you had a good experience.

I was on bed rest when our alarm clock/radio went off to the news. A horrific day for all, and one I will never forget.
