How I Spent My Saturday Afternoon...and something less frivolous...

Here is how I spent the boy's nap time yesterday...organizing, cutting and getting ready to make a new load of towels...the TV was on of course but I can't really recall what it was that I was watching...just enjoying the quiet and mostly motionless time...
And here is my "little" sewing basket...I try to limit myself to just this amount but I'd be lying if I said that there isn't an overflow in my craft room. :)

Onto something less frivolous...I have had this idea for sometime but keep talking myself out of it because I convince myself of one of two things 1) that you will think it is dumb or 2) that you will think I am dumb for suggesting it...then I decided that it can't be dumb. So there.

So my idea is to have a post a week...preferably on Sunday to offer a place where you can leave a prayer request. I'll be turning on the anonymous commenting (I assume that my psycho stalker has moved on) so that if you feel more comfortable doing it that way then that option is available. I am not claiming to be a great prayer warrior or anything but I do pray daily and I will do my best to pray for each and every request listed on the Sunday post as often as I remember to during the week. You can do the same to pray if you feel so led. I know we all have needs and sometimes don't know where to drop them off at...

I'll even go first...for at least the last month or so my back has been in terrible pain...I can hardly lift and carry anything...especially Moses...and our insurance, as good as it it, doesn't cover chiropractic medicine so I am left to just deal with it...it seems to get worse everyday and I am dreading what is to come if it doesn't go away...

I am also praying that this won't be the only post that no one comments on! :)

Happy Sunday to you! I look forward to seeing answered prayers! xoxo

Your creative basket of fabric looks GREAT.
As for your idea of sharing prayer request that ia beyond wonderful. Not even close to being stupid.
My prayer request is for my stepson Jake. He is 19, lives on his own and struggles a GREAT deal with holding a job. His new job is a whole week old. I would ask for prayer that he hold this job and God will form him into a responsible young man.
I actually really respect you for doing this on your blog. So many dont want to touch religious things or political things. Im thankful you went religious/spiritual.

i would love prayer for the upcoming school year! lainie goes to school 45 minutes away and there is no busing. i am one that gets paranoid when driving a lot. also, we have to leave the house by no later than 7:45am (i'm not a morning person) and we don't get home until 3pm which makes for a long day for little addie. so also pray that we can find some fun things to do to keep her busy and for us to have some fun quality time together :)

this is a great idea, thanks for praying;)

thanks for sharing the spiritual love! I have been praying for some time now that I will be able to find someone to share my life with. I am looking for a responsible, caring man who wants to share the love and joy of a family with me. Someone to love and who will love me, equally, in return. Amen.

I'm praying for your back! I think its a very kind and selfless thing you are doing. As you know our prayers mean so much to God...I know this will bless him even more than the people you are praying for. I'm blesssed my your obediance!

Hey girl, you need one (or two) of those fabric baskets like I made to house all your cute fabric. :-)

Oh do I know about bad backs. I feel so much for you. I had cervical osteoarthritis in HS through adulthood. Mine actually started getting better when I was pregnant, if you can imagine that. I hope you are getting Doug to give you massages. Even ask Moses. Though perhaps not physically effective, little hand massages carry loads of love and healing powers.

My current prayer request is for my cousin Katie who works summers at the Renaissance Faire near us, but lives in Austin, TX. My uncle and her mom divorced when she was quite young. Her mom was an alcoholic. She did not have much of a childhood nor good role models for parents. Her stepmom, who she saw occasionally with her real dad was impatient with her and I think jealous of her because she was born of another woman by her husband. Katie basically had to raise herself and take care of her mom. She is a delightful young lady and I love her dearly. She is all over the place with beliefs about God and I would love for her to find the one true God to be her real Father and Mother and Role Model. And I really think it's possible. I just need a lot of people praying for her, so I'm asking anyone and anywhere I can.

Thanks so much for this!

I have visited your site quite often since I found it thru another blog. I will pray that you find ease in your discomfort in your back and that you have a blessed pregnancy.

I have a 10 year old nephew that was diagnosed with brain cancer at 1 year and it has returned with a vengance. It is just a matter of time and he will be going home to be with God. I ask that you pray that he has no pain or fear. Please pray that we, his family, are able to find peace and understanding as he leaves us.
Thanks so much for opening this door for me.

I think that is so terrific!!!! I just recently started to read "the power of a praying wife" and I feel that it is helping already! Prayer really does work miricles!!!

I remember, when I was 15, my 14 yo brother (he was an all star athlete) found out he had really rare tumors on his ankle ( there are only 30 cases known in the world and his ankle/foot looked like swiss cheese), long story short, a friend of my father said his church wanted to do a hands on healing for Johnny. It was so incredible to watch... well, to this day, 13 years later, thanks to prayer and radiation, his foot/ankle is much better! Bone has almost fully grown back! And most importantly, it wasnt cancerous!

I think this is a great idea. I don't really know you, but God will know who you are talking about.

My parents are foster parents. They kept a 10 year old boy for about 6 months. He has gone back home now with his family. He came and spent the night this weekend. My son thinks the world of him, and so do we. He has 3 younger sisters. They are really struggling financially now. We took him and bought school supplies, because he didn't have what he needed. My husband has also offered to drive them to the grocery store, because they do not have a vehicle. They have been walking to a convienient store that is close by, and that is where they are buying thier food. We did not realize his situation was as bad as it is until this weekend. We are now going to keep in closer contact, so we can make sure the boy is ok. I would really appritate if you would keep this family in your prayers.
Thank you.

WOW--What a GREAT idea!
My husband needs to find a new job and has been looking really hard for quite awhile. We are on a time-line of sorts, so we are really waiting on the Lord.
Thank you so much for such a neat idea.
Praise the Lord!

finally getting around to reading some blogs this holiday weekend.
i love the mary thoughts. how do we forget so quickly who would want to be like and become? how do we let the evil slip in so easily?

you can pray for my relationship with my 13 yr. old daughter. :) it's typical but not anything i had hoped for. not awful and she's a good girl but we are totally disconnected. so anyone can pray for that!

i have fabric all over right now too.
i hope you could get past the mean comment that someone thoughtless sent you. it's spiritual warfare. don't let her stop you. Your God is mighty. He wins. period. Tell everyone. :)
