Fabulous things...

Don't you just love it when you get the perfect gift? My dear bloggy/etsy friend April sent me the above print for my birthday and I just LOVE it...I would like to think of it as one of my mission statements for life...taking ordinary things and making them extraordinary! :) I can't wait to frame it and find a place where it will remind me of a life goal! Makes me feel all loved and whatnot! I almost even cried when I opened it. Thanks April!! :)
And here is another fabulous thing...my favorite scraps of all time are on sale for 50% off!!!! Ashley has even lowered the shipping making it an even more fabulous deal than usual...head on over to LassieGirl and get yourself some...I PROMISE that you won't regret the box of fabulous scraps that you get in the mail!! Perfect for a million things! And if there are none listed just ask...I am certain she will hook you up!! :)

And onto fabulous foods...so as my dear husband and I sat down to lunch this afternoon to cooked at home hamburgers and french fries, I began to shake one of my favorite condiments of all time onto my fries. My husband looks at me and without batting an eye calls me a redneck. I am surely offended. I refuse to believe that it is a redneck trait to use such a fine condiment in a way that it suggests on the very container...which he read only to find out such information.
So please tell me, or my husband rather, that it is not a redneck thing to do...but merely taking advantage of a delicious southern goody. He puts BUTTER on Poptarts for crying out loud...who is he to talk?

If you have no idea what Old Bay is...then you are missing out...and you live either too far North or too far from the East coast. :)

Hope you are fabulous today! :) xoxo

Wow, what a cute print!!! Where did she get that?

Bought some scraps less than a minute ago, apparently there is a reserved listing for Crystal!!! :)

Never heard of Old Bay!? I couldn't say if you're a redneck or not;) but if the bottle specifically says to use it as a condiment then I say, "that is so not a redneck trait!!!" Although, I would say, "butter on a poptart, now that's just weird!!!"

Congrats on being out of your first trimester!!! I hope you feel much better in the coming months. Oh, and as far as I know Old Bay is Maryland, not southern. I don't consider Maryland the south. It is good on fries, and I still can't believe Doug puts butter on poptarts! YUCK :-d

You had to bring up the Poptarts, huh? First of all I haven't had a Poptart since 1997, but yes, they are meant to be buttered, (it's true.) Maybe its a Jersey thing, or maybe a Norwegian thing, but the fact remains. My story has been corroborated many times over, and is not some grand scheme like you've accused me of since you've learned this fact. I was humble enough to admit when I read the side of the Old Bay tin that it even said using it as a topping for fries was acceptable, I could have ignored that. Perhaps, 'redneck' was too harsh, perhaps 'regionally outlandish' would be more appropriate. Just don't try to deep fry and dip in horseradish any more meals, or we'll have serious words.

Martha Stewart uses Old Bay. I've seen her use it on the show. Ha! She's SO FAR from redneck. You're good. Now, butter on Poptarts? Hmmmmm!

Martha Stewart also spent time incarcerated in West Virginia. I wouldn't call her a redneck, but I'm just saying, there's an outside shot she learned some culinary tips from the clink. Also, I'm not against Old Bay when used on seafood or even seasoning grilled items, I just though the fries where a bit much.

I'm laughing here and I could use a laugh tonight! Thanks! Do you butter iced poptarts? Just wondering? Kelly

Oh, Old BAY! I love it. But it is actually a Northern thing, not a Southern thing, created by a guy in Maryland. I grew up about an hour from it's birthplace and we have Old Bay flavored chips!

That seasoning looks yummy to me......BUT...I'm originally from Mississippi.....AND I've been accused of being a redneck before!
BUTTER on poptarts....now that's COUNTRY!

That print is so cute! About the Old Bay, I'm always baffled when I order steamed shrimp with a side of Old Bay...and the server says "I don't think we have that, I don't even know what it is". That's here in FL but back home in VA and NC, everyone knows it! So, I defintely don't think you are a redneck....they just don't have a clue.
