I think I may cry...

so shortly after posting the pics below the Earth shifted or the sun changed color or something strange happened in my home and turned that lovely shade of green NEON. NEON!! N.E.O.N. I am going back and forth between crying (at the thought of doing it all again) to wanting to throw up (at the thought of buying more paint)...I need to drown my face in chocolate to choke back the tears...luckily Doug is off this Tuesday and Wednesday so guess what we will be doing..... :(

Oh sister...been there and done that...more than once! The worst was our downstairs bathroom here in Arizona. Before we ever moved I had a towel with this fun mango shade in it all picked out for that particular bathroom. We took our towel and used the trusty color match computer at Home Depot and ventured home on cloud nine with our paint. Let me just say that the shade in that towel was COMPLETELY different than what ended up on our walls! It too was a neon shade and when the light was on a glow was emitted from beneath the bathroom door! YIKES!!

So after one coat of primer and two coats of paint we both hated it. Then it was back to Home Depot to pick out another color...light purple. After two coats of that we were happy! But after being crammed in a tiny half bath with the lights glaring and causing me to sweat and get claustrophobic, I was DONE! I was NEVER in my life so glad to finish a painting project!

That is just one color mishap...I have several others too!!

Anyway, all that just to say I've been there and done that! Hope you can find a color you love just as much that tones it down!! Good luck and happy painting this week!!

oh man, that has happened to me with the color yellow! We didn't end up repainting it for numerous reasons and now it's grown on me!

I painted my bathroom a green it's called aloe green and it actually turned out more grassy then aloe, it's so fun and pretty at the same time, maybe you could look for that?

Well, I think it looks great, and basically, after seeing those pictures, I want you to come decorate my house.

You should ask my husband how many times I burst into tears when I was in search of the perfect yellow and hated every expensive can of paint we bought.
We finally went with something a little more neutral.

I wish I could see your green in real life, because in the picture it looks SO awesome.

Oh dear. I had the same trouble with yellow. Once up it looked a little greenish neon at certain times of day. I've kind of gotten used to it and we didn't change it because it was the guest room and not a high priority. We don't have a lot of overnight guests. But I do find myself drawn to that room because it is so bright and cheery. Hope you can find another better green that will make you happy!

I can relate. In January I painted my dining room a "bright" green. When I chose the color, I was trying to avoid olive green or anything drab. I did not think it would be so bright. Someone suggested that the room would look better when I hung the window treatments, and there is a double window. It's true-- I found a silk plaid that had a tiny bit of the green but mostly other colors to offset the green walls.

I was excited when I saw your walls !
